Fire safety norms in India have undergone a major shift. Authorities now insist on fire resistant glass that is tested, certified, and application-specific. Traditional assumptions no longer pass approval.
Many projects still specify toughened glass assuming it offers fire protection. This is incorrect. Toughened glass is not fire resistant glass and fails rapidly under real fire conditions.
